Boosters

The parents of football players have to put up with a lot. Sweaty, smelly equipment stinking up their cars and homes, muddied athletes with bumps and bruises, and hours spent each fall on uncomfortable, cold bleachers - while loving every minute of it. In 2003 a group of parents from CVU took their devotion to the sport a step further by forming the CVU Redhawks Football Booster Club. The mission of the CVU Redhawks Football Boosters - an independently funded, school-affiliated organization of parents, alumni and friends - is to support and enhance the football program through volunteer assistance and fund/friend-raising programs while promoting the highest standards of spirit and sportsmanship. The Boosters also act as a liaison between the football teams, parents, school administration and general public. Ideally, the Boosters hope their involvement off the field will help the coaches continue their stellar work on the field with the Varsity, JV-A and JV-B teams.

Contributions

The Boosters have made major contributions to the program since its inception, securing items such as the coaches' headsets, full uniforms including helmets, practice equipment, video recording and display equipment, uniform racks and field number markers. The Boosters oversaw the grading and ground preparation, along with the construction of the Press Box (in conjunction with a terrific Williston Eagle Scout candidate and CVU football player, Patrick Hollick). The Boosters worked with the School to get and later upgrade the scoreboard. The Boosters even bought the School a flagpole and flag as no American flag was visible from the athletic fields.

Bucket List

On the agenda for the Boosters? New bleachers are a top goal, but as you can see on the Booster Activities page, the Boosters have hundreds of tasks to accomplish each year, dozens each week. The Boosters would like to bring lights to the CVU football field, but recognize the permitting process will be a challenge. The Boosters envision both the bleachers and lighting as joint Booster-CVU projects.
